A little bit about me
Hi, my name's Helen, I'm a PhD student and part-time tutor. In the run up to the GCSE exams this summer I'm offering private tuition in the Leeds area.
I have a first class master's degree in chemistry from the University of Leeds, and many previous qualifications in chemistry and engineering, my CV is below
My PhD is based at the British Antarctic Survey and the University of East Anglia. My thesis is entitled 'Iodine in sea ice and the polar atmosphere' and my research combines atmospheric chemistry, marine biology and sea ice physics. If you'd like to know more about my research take a look at my other blogs.
I'm a very keen scientist, and I believe every teacher should be able to convey an enthusiasm for their subject. My favourite teachers at school were the ones who were passionate about what they taught, and who enjoyed teaching. I find teaching extremely rewarding, and I hope by tutoring GCSE students I can help young people improve their grades and further their interest in science.
